Being part of a team defines much of competitive swimming. A relay brings that connection into every length of the pool.
Masters relay racing combines individual performance with collective execution. Each swim contributes to a shared result, where pacing, order and consistency across all four legs determine performance.

Age Is Just a Number
A recent BBC South report highlighted a standout story from within the Bluefins community.
At 49, Bluefins Masters swimmer Martin Bennell has qualified for the GB Aquatics Championships in the 50m breaststroke, returning to national competition for the first time in 26 years.
His last appearance came in 2000. Next month, he will race alongside the country’s best, including Olympic champion Adam Peaty.

Why Young Swimmers Race Different Strokes
As swimmers gain more racing experience, parents often see them competing across a range of strokes and events.
A swimmer who performs well in freestyle may also race backstroke or butterfly. Others may appear in the 200IM or longer events that stretch their skills.
