Bluefins💙 Dive Clinic: Flying into Club Championships🚀

This week, swimmers from our Skills Academy, Competitive Development, County Development, and Age Group Competitive Squads turned their focus to one of the most exciting (and crucial) parts of racing: the dive start. With Club Championships just around the corner, we dedicated a full session to a Dive Clinic, breaking down every stage of the start to sharpen technique, boost confidence, and prepare for competition.

Breaking Down the Dive

The clinic progressed step by step, ensuring swimmers mastered the details before putting it all together:

• Powerful Jumps — building explosive lift from the blocks.

• Precision Pencil Entries — slicing cleanly into the water with minimal splash.

• The Famous Cactus Pose 🌵 — training mid-air control and body awareness.

• Slick Streamline Entries — locking in speed to carry momentum underwater.
  

Practice Under Race Conditions

Once the skills were nailed, it was time to simulate the real thing. Swimmers rehearsed the official race start, responding to the all-important short whistle blasts — just like they’ll hear on the big day.

Confidence, Control, and Club Spirit

The energy on poolside was electric. Every swimmer refined their start, learning not just how to dive further and faster, but how to dive smarter. By the end of the session, the skills had clicked, and the squads were buzzing with confidence.

Huge thanks go to our coaching team for guiding the clinic, and a special shout-out to our Senior Club Captains, whose idea this was and who led the demonstrations. Their leadership set the tone for a session full of focus, fun, and fast learning.
