Thinking about joining Bluefins?

IMG_6059_edited.jpg

Whether your child is moving on from swimming lessons, joining club swimming later or simply looking for a more structured way to swim, there are different ways to get started.

You do not need to know which squad is right before contacting us. We can help with that.

 Moving On from Swimming Lessons?

Our Skills Academy provides the bridge between swimming lessons and structured club swimming.

Typically for swimmers aged 7–12, it builds on the skills children already have while introducing them to coached squad training.

Swimmers continue to develop all four strokes, starts, turns and underwater skills while building confidence and independence in the pool.

Want to Keep Swimming Without Competition Being the Main Focus?

Not every swimmer wants to follow a competitive pathway.

Our Club Pathway provides structured, coached swimming for young people who want to continue developing their technique, improve their fitness and enjoy being part of a club.

Club Development supports swimmers aged 10–13 continuing beyond swimming lessons, while Club Fitness provides flexible coached swimming for ages 13–17.

Both provide opportunities to keep improving, build fitness, make friends and stay involved in swimming without competitive progression being expected.

 Interested in Competitive Swimming?

Bluefins provides a pathway from early racing through Development, County, Age Group, Regional and National swimming.

You do not need to work out where you fit within that pathway.

Our coaches can assess your current swimming, experience and readiness and recommend the most appropriate place to start.

 Adult Swimming

Our Masters programme brings together adults with a wide range of abilities and goals.

Some swim for fitness and friendship. Others return to the sport after many years away. Some train and compete at national and international level.

More Ways to Join Bluefins

Swimming is at the heart of Bluefins, but there are other ways to get involved in the water.

 Try Water Polo

For swimmers looking for something different, Water Polo combines swimming fitness with ball skills, teamwork and game play.

Bluefins provides opportunities for children, teenagers and adults to learn and develop within the sport.

 Disability & Inclusive Swimming

Our Disability & Inclusion programme provides a supportive coaching environment for swimmers with additional needs.

Coaching can be adapted around the individual, helping swimmers develop skills, confidence and fitness with opportunities to progress within the wider club where appropriate.

 Not Sure Where You Fit?

You don't need to know which squad or programme to choose.

Tell us the swimmer’s age, current swimming experience and what they are looking for.

We can then advise on the most appropriate starting point and, where suitable, arrange a trial.
