Swim England Masters National Championships  07/11/17

27th – 29th October saw 19 Basingstoke swimmers (plus coaches and supporters) travel to the outstanding Ponds Forge pool in Sheffield for the biggest annual event of the year – Swim England Masters National Championships. The team made up of Coach Ian Cameron, Swimmer and coach Keone Crockwell and the swim team of Kate Carter, Ed Smith, Caroline Jones, Sam Irvine, John Slater, Sarah Adams, Lizzie Godfrey, Olly Espinasse, Spencer Turner, Fleur Parker, Neil Mitchell, Laura Moseley, Emily Budzynski-Seymour, Natalie McNamara, Andy Josephs, Fabio Formentin, Simon Hindshaw and Bryn Hughes. full report

Bluefins AGM 2017  27/9/17 updated 3/10/17

Notice is given of the The Bluefins Annual General Meeting 2017 which will be on Wednesday 1st November 2017, ** Thursday 23rd November** please note change in date, at Loddon Vale Bowling Club, West Ham Leisure Park (next to Milestones). 7.00pm - 8.30pm. We would encourage as many members to attend if possible.

FINA World Masters Championships 2017, Budapest, Hungry                  & Swim England National Summer Meet 2017

We are very proud of our six Masters who are taking part in the 17th FINA World Championships, which will take place in Budapest from July 14th-30th.The 2017 FINA World Championships will see over 3,000 competing in six different disciplines over 17 days.

HCASA appoint new President Elect

Congratulations to our very own Brian Harrison on his recent appointment by the Hampshire County ASA, to President Elect!  Since 2005, Brian has been quietly working in the background volunteering and gaining valuable knowledge on all areas of the swimming world and has been heavily involved with not only Bluefins, but also Hampshire County, SwimMark plus a number other non-swim related organisations.

We salute you Brian! - a truly remarkable achievement!

Masters - New British record!

16th-18th June 2017 saw 8 Bluefins travel to Aberdeen for the British Masters National Long Course Championships. Those representing the club were Olly Espinasse, Lizzie Godfrey, Neil Mitchell, Simon Hindshaw, Natalie McNamara, Spencer Turner and Fleur Parker. ASA become Swim England

On Monday 3 April 2017, the ASA will start using their new name, Swim England. The Amateur Swimming Association remains the constitutional name, but they will use Swim England on all internal and external communications, including the website.  

Basingstoke & Deane Sports Awards 2017 03/03/2017

Bluefins were out in force at the Basingstoke & Deane Sports Awards, held at the Apollo Hotel Basingstoke last night. more

Counties 2017 17/02/2017

The last weekend in January and first two in February saw swimmers from across the County of Hampshire converge on pools at Portsmouth and Waterlooville, to take part in the Annual County Swimming Championships Competition.

Basingstoke break 4x200m Freestyle European record Short Course National Championships 28-30th Nov 2016

Bluefins dominated the Mixed 4x200m Freestyle Relay in session seven, swimming more than a minute faster than their closest rival.

Many congratulations to all 17 Masters swimmers who took part in this weekends events, a remarkable achievement and ambassadors of the club. A full report is now available to view here
